4 AA batteries, They recomend you use shutter priority for this. I have found the flash to work exellent with my pentax k-x. Very sucure fit, good value.

I was not very impressed with the item because it does not mount completely on the camera. The flash is still moveable. When you slide it on it does not click appearing to be thorougly attached.

This fit our old Minolta K1000 SLR camera even though it says it is for a digital (DLSR) camera. We needed it asap and the flash arrived on time and in excellent working condition. We just had to add the batteries and the camera. It comes with a small wire used for remote lighting when needed. That worked as well.

I like this, only because it was a cheap version of what I wanted. It is not a fully automatic flash, like I will most likely invest in at some point, but it is very nice as a cheap unit. It works well, it fits with some wobble on my Pentax K7, and it flashes well.
Bad stuff
LONG recharge time
Loud recharge beeping thing
Does not fit all that well
NO electronic controls to adjust based on need, only a chart and a switch.
Bottom Line,
CHEAP Flash, only drawback is that it is extremely cheap, in both price and quality.
However, for someone who wants to know if they need it without buying a $300 unit, it is fantastic.
