Same old same old. The time may have come for publishers to stop publishing books on Flash.

I’ve been studying Flash 8 for two years and still going at it; I received this book for Christmas because I have updated to CS3. This book is great at giving advice and telling you what you should do or how your end product should look, but doesn’t give detailed directions on how to accomplish such tasks. It’s like being taught by a master who overlooks the “obvious”. This means that you’re going to spend a lot of time figuring out how to achieve the end result. I even contacted every single reference and contact mentioned by this book and I haven’t received any replies after waiting now for a few months.
I have a lot of motivation to learn on my own from books, and finish them, but I’ve put this book down for now as it’s too tiring and time consuming without yielding results. When I pick it up again and complete it, I’ll update this review.

Hello, I bought the book How to Cheat in Flash CS3: The art of design and animation in Adobe Flash CS3, and I mean the whole ones that is the best book on the Flash that I already had opportunity to read. The examples, the form as they are presented, the easy language, everything wonderful. It is worthwhile to acquire that book, and to know Chris Georgenes’s work later, visiting its site. I really have 3 special books on as to do cartoons using Flash, and that belongs one to them. Congratulations to who acquiring. You will acquire an excellent book

Really get you going on exactly what you need to get started! Hands on examples that get you started on real world tasks.

This book works well showing basic shortcuts for the newbie with flash. Some interesting insights for professional flash users but those are also available in the trade magazines much more cheaply. Still a fun book though.
